I did my first shoot as makeup artist February 13th and its been about four weeks since I did the blogging thing, if you read my previous blog you will know why I been busy.I had a bunch of inquiries due to the shoot being free and the makeup was free,I had fun responding to emails......I had some girls lined up and some dropped due to schedule conflict that happens,I only did one face and it was ok as long I had someone.Few days before the shoot my good friend Jennifer was interested in doing the pinup shoot and it was her first shoot.I stopped at her place to start on the hair and makeup,I did well.The powder I brought from Morphe Brushes wasn't vegan when I read it was from China,oops!They do carry vegan products and I should ask questions before purchasing for now on.The powder pallet I purchased from Morphe Brushes didn't have good coverage and I had to layer and mix the powders to get the coverage I want.I'll use the powder pallet as setting powers when I deal with foundations.Jennifer is a lighter skin tone,I used the darker powders as contour and lighter powder for highlighting I made it work.I wouldn't recommend purchasing the powers if you are looking for a lot of coverage,they are cheaper alternative to setting and contouring powders all in one.I posted a picture of the power pallet in my other post and I'll post it again.I used power #1 for highlighting and powder #2 for face,I mixed powder #3 and #5 for contouring.
It was a hot day in Mission Viejo at a park,and I'm glad I didn't use liquid foundation or it will be all over the place.My friend and photographer Amanda is not a photo shop user and I had to stay on top of the makeup,that was fun being a makeup artist fixing up the makeup.If Jennifer sweat it will show up on the photos and it was easy to fix,next time I'll have some type of anti shine or learn a method to prevent sweating there is YouTube.Then I ended up taking pictures and I thought the makeup artist don't take pics,it was just Jennifer and I there so why not.It was a fun shoot and learning experience for me as I grow.I should have photos soon and keep an eye out on Facebook or Instagram for the photos=] What's in my makeup kit?I brought myself a Valentine's Day present and they are 10 piece Vegan set from Morphe Brushes,the brushes feel nice and I'll test them soon.Yes they are pink=]
